Thrilled to see one of our clients enjoying success

by Nick Ramshaw

We have been really thrilled to see one of our clients enjoy a phenomenal run of award wins over the last few months.

Citu is a property developer, but not your usual type of developer. Their core belief is that new homes should be well designed, help create successful communities and be good for the environment. This might sound like rhetoric, but Citu really means it. Not only do they believe this, their brand is entirely based on challenging convention and delivering on this promise (that’s where we come in!).

Having completed the multi-award winning Greenhouse development in Leeds, Citu is now the only UK developer to be building passive houses on a commercial scale, starting with Little Kelham in Sheffield. Passive houses are brilliant. They are so well insulated and designed, you don’t need central heating and the annual heating bills are 10% of a standard new house.

The recent run started with the Yorkshire Post Environment Awards in April 2014, with Citu winning the Built Environment category.

This was followed by recognition at the UK Property Marketing Awards 2014 in London. Little Kelham won both the Best Marketing Campaign for Residential New Build and the prestigious Grand Prix for the best entry in the whole award scheme. We’re not wanting to blow our trumpet… but we will, as we developed the campaign!

Great things do come in threes. The next good news came in the extremely prestigious Guardian Sustainable Business Awards 2014. These awards have been run by one of the leading voices in sustainable issues to recognise UK individuals and businesses that are helping to set the agenda. We were delighted that Citu was picked as winner in the Built Environment category, a truly great accolade.

And as I’m writing this, I have just heard that Citu has also been shortlisted for the Specialist Property Company of the Year at the Estates Gazette Awards. Fingers crossed for yet more success and recognition on 11 December 2014.

Nothing gives us more pleasure than seeing our clients succeed in their fields. Better still is to see our work and input contributing to their success and helping make them famous.
